We welcome 2019 with some onscreen adventures from the latest Hollywood movies! This January, SM Cinema premieres two blockbuster flicks that are sure to excite both the young and the young-at-heart — Walt Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns and Paramount Pictures’ Bumblebee.

Mary Poppins is back to help the family cope with the most difficult time of their lives.

The former, which is a sequel to the 1964 classic, features the story of the magical nanny Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt) who returns to the lives of the now-adult Banks children, Jane (Emily Mortimer) and Michael (Ben Wishaw) together with his three kids.

In the time that the family needs her the most, Mary Poppins is back to help the family cope with the most difficult time of their lives, with some singing and dancing, of course!

Mary Poppins Returns is also a comeback for some of its other original cast members.

Moviegoers are set to catch the cameo appearances of Karen Dotrice (who first played the role of young Jane), and Dick Van Dyke (who was formerly the charismatic chimney sweeper, Bert) as they step into their new roles in this most recent film.

Loosely based on a series of books by P.L. Travers, Mary Poppins Returns features a star-studded cast that includes Hamilton creator and theater actor Lin-Manuel Miranda, multi-award-winning actresses Meryl Streep and Angela Lansbury, Kingsman actor Colin Firth and fine character actress Julie Walters.

Meanwhile, a movie offering from the Transformers franchise follows the adventures of one of its well-loved Autobots, Bumblebee!

A prequel movie set in 1987, B-127, popularly known as Bumblebee, is on the run from a civil war in their home planet, Cybertron. Bumblebee crashes in California and is found by Charlie Watson (Hailee Steinfeld) under a yellow Volkswagen Beetle disguise. Discovering that Bumblebee is not just an ordinary car, Charlie helps Bumblebee on his mission to protect Earth from Decepticons.
