Firm gets fuel from Pilipinas Shell

Philex Mining Corp. has signed a year-long contract with energy and petroleum leader Pilipinas Shell making the latter the official supplier for the mining giant’s operations.

Both recognize the need for better fuel efficiency and innovation in the industry. As such, the mining firm aims to leverage the partnership to innovate its operations and increase efficiency to extend its legacy as one of Southeast Asia’s oldest mining corporations.

Other companies can just supply fuel, but our aspiration as your long-term partner is to add value to what you do.

Pilipinas Shell meets this need by providing the Shell FuelSave Diesel with Dynaflex technology. Shell FuelSave will improve vehicle reliability to keep the engines of heavy equipment clean, thus lessening vehicular downtime.

With fuel efficiency and smart allocation of resources being the key goals for Philex Mining Corp., the company opted to expand its supplier base and maximize the potential that Pilipinas Shell offers. Philex Mining Corp. President Eulalio Austin Jr. emphasized the company’s trust in Pilipinas Shell, particularly because of its consistent fuel pricing, reliable product quality, and a more professional and accessible account management for better operations in the long run.

“We are thankful that Philex Mining gave us the privilege and opportunity to be a part of their operations. We offer the full commitment of Shell, and we will continue to work with them to better serve their business,” said Pilipinas Shell president and CEO Cesar Romero.

The company opted to expand its supplier base and maximize the potential that Pilipinas Shell offers.

To meet the demand, Pilipinas Shell has allotted dedicated lorries for Philex Mining Corp. through the strong and reliable partnership with its hauler in North Luzon. Having been in the business of fuel and energy for over 100 years, Pilipinas Shell has established its knowledgeability and experience in the operations of the mining industry to address the innovative needs of its new partner.

The contract signing was headed by Austin and Romero. Other signatories in attendance included Pilipinas Shell’s Commercial Fuels Sales manager Jackie de la Cruz and Javier and Philex Mining Corp. SVP for finance and CFO Danny Yu and group manager for Treasury Eileen Rodriguez.
