Smiles abound, laughter all around as kids from the streets and with special needs cared for by Virlanie Foundation were treated by AccorHotels Group to a fun-filled morning last 14 December at the Versailles Tent of Novotel Manila Araneta Center.
Through the Solidarity AccorHotels program, each of the AccorHotels namely, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, Raffles and Fairmont Makati, Joy-Nostalg Suites, Mercure Ortigas and Novotel Manila Araneta Center gathered together to share the joys of Christmas with underprivileged children.
The kids were paired up with a hotelier who helped them enjoy art activities, participate in Filipino parlor games, get awestruck by a guest magician and made sure that they all receive Christmas gifts while having a grand time.
Novotel Manila Araneta Center’s general manager and area general manager for Philippines, MidEco brands, Mike Brown also ceremoniously awarded to Virlanie Foundation the proceeds from Bea Alonzo’s #PrelovedbyBea bazaar — a first celebrity bazaar partnership of the hotel.
Fans and hotel guests had a chance to personally meet Bea and take selfies with her. For a bargain they were able to own some of her movie costumes, casual wear, designer bags, shoes and gowns.
“Over 500 actions were taken and 139,000 raised to aid 200 organizations around the world including our very own Virlanie Foundation for the Philippines. In the end, around 50,000 vulnerable people were able to benefit from these efforts,” Brown said.
The Solidarity AccorHotels priority mission is to promote access to professionalization, employment or entrepreneurship by supporting projects with positive implications for vulnerable people in countries where AccorHotels is established.
