Miguela, the 17-year-old founder of the social enterprise Migmarks and Arts, has released her self-titled debut album under Star Music, now available on digital stores with sales proceeds to benefit Bantay Bata 163.
The new eight-track collection consists of different love songs — music on falling in love, love of country and love of a mother and child. Five of these tracks are in English, with music and lyrics by Miguela herself.
Three tracks are written in Tagalog. “Subalit Bakit” and “Wika Ko” are written by Himig Handog PPop Love Song 2014 grand winner Edwin Marollano while Miguela co-wrote “Ma Intindi” with Marollano.
The young artist — who dabbles in painting, playing the guitar and keyboards — founded Migmarks and Arts, a fundraising platform to support several charities such as Lingkod-ER Foundation, ABS-CBN DZMM TLC ( Teaching, Learning Caring) Public Service on Wheels and Pag-asa ng Pamilya Scholarship Foundation.
Sales of the Miguela album will go to Bantay Bata 163, the children’s welfare program of ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc.
The singer-songwriter has been composing her own music since the age of 14. She enjoys creating her renditions of popular tunes, putting an acoustic twist to upbeat songs.
