The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced the resumption of diplomatic service at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Damascus, Syria after seven years it was closed.

The ministry said the move underscores the UAE government’s keenness to restore relations between the two brotherly countries to their normal course, thus enhancing and implementing the Arab role in supporting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic.

It added this step will also prevent the dangers of regional interference in Syrian affairs.
