Sail suspension strands 115 travelers


A total of 115 passengers and 16 rolling cargoes were stranded at the Port of Surigao Thursday, 27 December 2018, after maritime authorities suspended all sea travels from Surigao City, Surigao del Norte due to Tropical Depression “Usman.”

The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) made the report as part of the Department of Transportation’s “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos #Pasko2018” campaign to ensure safe travel for all Filipinos during the holiday season.

Meanwihle, gale warning was raised in the eastern seaboard of Mindanao including the Surigao provinces and Siargao Island.

There has been no occurrence of any maritime incident.
