University of the East sent Colegio San Agustin-Biñan crashing back to earth following a 25-10 26-24, 25-8 victory in the Philippine Superliga Collegiate Grand Slam yesterday at the Muntinlupa Sports Center.

After suffering back-to-back setbacks, the Lady Warriors regained their winning form as they dominated the Eagles, who are coming off a massive five-set shocker of Far Eastern University two weeks ago.

With the win, the Red Warriors finished this prestigious collegiate league with a 2-3 win-loss slate.

They will face the Lady Tamaraws in the bronze medal match while University of the Philippines and University of Santo Tomas (UST) figure in the finals on Dec. 20 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Veteran Meann Mendrez fired 10 kills and an ace for 11 points while Setter Laizah Bendong tallied seven aces on top of 11 excellent sets for UE, which completed the win in just 65 minutes.
