Emphasizing that every individual deserves to be respected, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has intensified its internal cleansing by filing more than 600 cases this year against erring officers and men, who were allegedly involved in human rights violations.

The filing of the cases was one of the highlights of the ongoing observance of the National Human Rights Consciousness Week.

“We remain steadfast and committed to our advocacy for human rights as foundation of justice and peace. It is ingrained in our institutional policy and deeply-rooted through our doctrine and mandate,” PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde said.
