Distressed 521 OFW back home

Christmas came early to some 521 distressed and displaced overseas Filipino workers (OFW) from Saudi Arabia as they finally returned safely to the country early this week.

Of the said batch, 174 were denied of salaries for four months and displaced after their employer, Azmeel Contracting Corporation, closed shop.

The other 347 comprise the distressed household service workers rescued by the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Riyadh and Alkhobar.

Shortly after their arrival, the migrant workers received immediate assistance from Overseas Workers Welfare Administration including airport assistance, psycho-social counseling, stress debriefing and medical referral.
