THE Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) on Tuesday shut down Bohol Hennan Resort Inc. in Panglao Island for under-stating its income.
“Their gross receipt is under-declared by more than 30 percent. That’s the violation,” said Eduard Pagulayan, BIR director for Central Visayas in an interview.
The BIR official, however, did not elaborate how much the resort owed the government except that it was a “substantial” amount.
Hennan is the first hotel in Bohol that has been closed down by the BIR since it first started ‘Oplan Kandado’.
