The fourth Tory Burch store, its largest boutique in the country, opened in effortless style — an evening of ambient sounds, refreshments and the unveiling of several pieces from the Fall/Winter 2018 collection, available only at the new Power Plant Mall location.
Soft lines, understated drama and hyper femininity — the Fall/Winter 2018 collection was truly a vision to behold
Having established the brand’s in-demand presence at three other retail locations — two in Makati City (Rustan’s Makati and Greenbelt 5) and one in Mandaluyong City (Shangri-La Plaza) — exclusive distributor Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) deemed it fitting to expand once more.
A wide range of the Tory Burch collection can be found at the new boutique, including ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, watches and fragrances.
Moreover, the limited fall merchandise includes a patchwork caftan in the season’s key floral Happy Times print, two Gemini Link handbags and the Scallop Sneaker in pink and navy.
Signature residential feel
Rows upon rows of fresh, hand-picked carnations inspired by the Fall/Winter 2018 collection decorated the area around the new store. It had the effect of a path imprinted on a field, leading attendees toward the grand tangerine doors.
With minimal brass detailing, large windows and lightboxes featuring seasonal print campaigns, the store’s façade was clean and modern. The interior was warm and inviting, designed to give off the signature residential feel of all Tory Burch spaces.
Silhouettes this season are relaxed, yet refined with feminine details.
Oak panel walls, cane tables and brass étagères encase the refined assortment of furnishings, such as leopard rugs, mocha-striped drapes and banquettes covered in delicate florals, giving reverence to Tory Burch’s West Indies home.
Seen on the window displays and on SSI’s muses and influencers were some of the Happy Times printed dresses in the various colorways to match the event’s photo walls.
Host Mari Jasmine, Miss Universe Philippines 2017 Rachel Peters, Rissa Mananquil-Trillo, Amanda Griffin Jacob, Iza Calzado and Mika Lagdameo Martinez were among those chosen to model the pieces.
Each bringing their own unique beauty and flair to the collection, there was a great deal of individual and group impact. Soft lines, understated drama and hyper femininity — the Fall/Winter 2018 collection was truly a vision to behold.
“From Lee Radziwill’s effortless style to a field of carnations inspired by the drama of Pina Bausch’s Nelken…Romanticism defines the Fall/Winter 2018 mood,” Tory Burch says. “Feminine layers mixed with classic tailoring, a modern take on chintz and contrasts of texture and print. Accessories carry these ideas through in leather bags and pointy-toe shoes.”
Silhouettes this season are relaxed, yet refined with feminine details. This is translated in loose, fluid dresses with scarf hemlines, tomboy jackets and trim blazers. Layered outerwear — from a classic peacoat to a blanket poncho — adds to the effortless vibe.
The palette balances ivory, pale pink and red with leaf green, deep burgundy and the brand’s signature Tory Navy.
An eclectic mix of prints and patterns speaks of the brand’s bohemian spirit. A modern take on chintz is interpreted in several colorways and anchors a patchwork of florals set against stripes and classic checks.
The drama is in the details with new fabrications, finishes and textures. Soft, relaxed fabrics — ranging from delicate lace and organza to wool and cashmere — are set against a structured poplin, cotton chino and a bonded wool satin. Cascading ruffles are finished with an organza edge and floral is interpreted as a velvet burnout, while top-stitch details on poplin and snap closures bring a sporty element.
Finally, accessories are pared back and refined, putting the focus on natural, effortless style.
A handbag, named after Lee, comes in different materials. Pointy-toe booties have clean, modern lines, while wishbone rings and a delicate medallion pendant necklace reference good luck talismans.
