They may have stopped studying but that did not deter two former students from applying the knowledge they learned in school and started a lucrative business of their own.
The only problem was they had the wrong product: marijuana (kush).
Such a mistake gave them a failing mark after they were arrested yesterday by lawmen as they were selling their stuff right in front of Manila City Hall.
Seized from the suspects were several kilos of marijuana with an estimated street value of around P1.2 million.
Initial investigation showed the suspects were college dropouts and one was formerly enrolled in a business administration course.
After dropping out of college the two resorted to selling marijuana, targeting students as their customers.
National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Guillermo Eleazar said the suspects were using social media to close deals with their clients. The two admitted pushing marijuana.
“We earn as much as P200 per gram,” one of the suspects told police investigators.
They are currently detained at Manila Police District Station 5. They will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
