The Cebu Institute of Medicine (CIM) earned the honor as the top performing medical school in the country with nearly 100 percent passing rate in the September 2018 Physician Licensure Examination, the Professional Regulation Commission announced Tuesday.
A total of 3,717 hopefuls have successfully passed the examination equivalent to an 81.84 percent passing rate out of the total 4,542 examinees who took the exam in four testing centers nationwide — in Manila, Baguio, Cebu and Davao.
Only one out of 150 examinees from CIM failed to pass the examination, giving the school a passing rate of 99.33 percent.
University of Santo Tomas and the University of the Philippines-Manila managed to take the second and third spot respectively with 98.71 percent and 98.51 percent passing rates.
However, Kurt Eduvas Jamora from De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute topped the exam with a 91.08 percent rating.
Jamora was followed by Martin Angelo Tan Zanoria from CIM and Christopher Ku Ang and from Saint Louis University with 90.92 percent and 90.58 percent rating, respectively.
Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will be done online starting on 19 November until 7 November.
