Benefit gala and bidding
for liver health advocacy
The Hepatology Society of the Philippines (HSP) will hold an online artwork bidding from 23 October until 6 November and a gala dinner with live art auction, The Liver Benefit Gala 2018, on 6 November at the Manila Polo Club.
The auction will raise funds for HSP’s liver health awareness programs, which aim to inform the public and medical community about the threat of hepatitis B and C in the country.
Over 60 art pieces by up to 50 Filipino artists are slated for bidding during HSP’s live and online auctions, organized in partnership with Ricco Renzo Gallery
There are approximately 300 million people living with viral hepatitis worldwide. In the Philippines, about 10 million are estimated to carry the hepatitis B virus, while about 600,000 are infected with hepatitis C. HSP’s programs include online access to viral hepatitis information for patients through beawareph.com, continuing regional workshops for healthcare providers and lay people, as well as free hepatitis screening and consultations during World Hepatitis Day. HSP likewise collaborates with the government for liver-related health policies and programs.
“Our forthcoming Liver Benefit Gala and online auction will give other sectors of the society an avenue to contribute to the fight against chronic liver diseases. Together, we can make education, proper diagnosis and care available to more hepatitis B and C patients and link them to the proper management that they deserve,” HSP president Dr. Jade Jamias shares.

HSP’s B Aware website and facebook page (www.beawareph.com and www.facebook.com/BeAwarePH) are online references that HSP maintain to provide the public easy access to reliable resources and expert’s advice on viral hepatitis.
