An 18-year-old male was arrested by members of the San Juan City Police Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) for selling high grade marijuana using social media.
In a report submitted to Eastern Police District director Chief Supt. Bernabe Balba by San Juan police chief Senior Supt. Dindo Reyes, the suspect was identified as Idyanale Añonuevo.
The alleged tech-savvy drug pusher is an out-of-school youth and resident of Kawilihan St. in Barangay Maybunga, Pasig City.
Reyes said the police conducted a surveillance based on information that Anonuevo was a supplier of high grade marijuana “kush” to teenagers he transacted with using the Internet.
The SDEU team headed by Senior Insp. Edwin Malabanan and SPO3 Gerard Crisostomo caught the teenager selling dried marijuana leaves along Hoover St., Barangay Addition Hills at around 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
The suspect completed the transaction using social media, particularly through Facebook, with the police getting a tip from a former customer.
A police poseur-buyer contacted Añonuevo and they agreed to meet at a mall in Mandaluyong City and then changed their meeting place to San Juan City.
Undercover policemen pounced on the suspect as he received the P500 marked money and as he handed the poseur-buyer a sachet of the weed.
