THREE Philippine islands topped the list of the world’s best islands in Asia in the recent Conde Nast Travelers’ 2018 Readers Choice Awards.

The international travel magazine have named Siargao, Boracay and Palawan as Asia’s top three best islands in their prestigious list, followed by Malaysia’s Langkawi and Indonesia’s Bali.

Conde Nast Travelers had organized the 30-point list by region, including Asia, Australia and the South Pacific, Caribbean and the Atlantic, Europe and North America, among others.

The magazine’s editors described Siargao, Boracay and Palawan in three separate reviews, citing the islands’ best features.

Of Siargao, CNT writes: “The ‘teardrop-shaped Philippine island [is] home to more than 15 separate surf breaks including the legendary Cloud 9, which counts Kelly Slater and Anthony Keidis among its fans’.”

Boracay, on the other hand, was described as “as close to a tropical idyll as you’ll find in Southeast Asia, with gentle coastline and made-for-Instagram sunsets.”

Meantime, Palawan was regarded as “a regular on our list of the world’s best islands,” CNT highly recommended the UNESCO World Heritage site Puerto Princesa Subterranean River.

About 429,000 readers were polled for the 2018 Readers Choice.
