From being a much-talked-about fun run, the annual Sunpiology celebrates a decade of healthy lifestyles with a “triple threat.”
That is, regular patrons who love the annual sporting event will see something more from the usual this time around.
Dubbed as the “Sunpiology Tr10,” the event now comes with a charity segment headed by its ambassador, actor Piolo Pascual.
“This year is exciting. It started just as a fun run, but now we have three events. It will start with the cycling event on 17 November at Bonifacio Global City. Next year, 26 January at Camp Aguinaldo, we will start with a fun run in the morning, then a series of games follows like basketball, volleyball and badminton, and we call it Bike-Play-Run, all to promote a healthy lifestyle,” Mylene Lopa, chief marketing officer of Sunlife Philippines, said.
Based on the presentation of Sunrise Events which handles Ironman, the Sunlife Cycle PH is just a participatory event meaning there will be no winners. All joiners, as long as they finish the race, will be given a medal. This is to introduce the said tournament and will not cost so much for anyone.
But what Sunlife is happy about is the fact that Sunpiology is now adapted in other Cities in Asia where Sunlife is located. Come 2019, it will be an event in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Vietnam and Indonesia and will be called Sun Life Resolution Run, a good idea fit for the new year.
Lopa said all the registration fees are still the same, but with a lot of prizes and freebies, and the beneficiaries are still the scholars handled by the foundations supported by Pascual and Star Magic. Part of the proceeds goes also to the Institute for Diabetes, an advocacy program of Sunlife, and to some kids with cleft palate issues.
