Bureau of Customs (BoC) agents at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport arrested Friday a woman who claimed a package from France containing the party drug Ecstasy with an estimated value of P25 million.

BoC Commissioner Isidro Lapeña identified the arrested suspect as Joan Loteia Reynoso, 42, and a resident of Cavite City.

According to BoC, at least 14,000 tablets of Ecstasy were discovered earlier hidden in a CPU case of a desktop computer.
The package was consigned to a certain James Stanly and the sender was named as Roberto Stanly from France.

The package arrived 4 August at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC).

The intercepted illegal party drugs together with the arrested suspect were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement agency for further investigation and filing of appropriate criminal case.

Lapeña said the BoC will continue upgrading x-ray machines in all cargo and passenger terminals of the airport to help Customs front liners in cargo and baggage examinations and stop the entry of illegal items into the country.
