Pinoys clash for OPBF title

CEBU CITY — No less than the Oriental-Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) lightweight title is up for grabs when Edward Heno of Baguio City defends his crown against Jessie Espinas of Oroquieta City today in San Pedro Plaza, Laguna.

Heno (12-0-5, 5KO’s) stakes his unbeaten record against the experienced Espinas, (19-2-0,11KO’s).

Meanwhile, Filipino Alvin Lagumbay failed in his first title defense when he bowed to Japanese foe Keita Obara in a rematch of the World Boxing Organization Asia -Pacific welterweight title on last Thursday at the Korakuen Hall.

Obara improved his record to 21-3-1 with 19 knockouts as he avenged his 2nd round TKO loss to Lagumbay last year.

Lagumbay has a record of 10-4-0.
