The House of Representatives continued its efforts to engage and empower the youth by holding the LIYAB Leadership Forum Series on Thursday, June 14, 2018.
Themed “Lighting the Path to Change,” the half-day forum is the second installment of the series, which is an endeavor of the Office of the Speaker and the House Secretariat Offices.
LIYAB aims to inspire and empower the youth by tackling issues relevant to them today: rebuilding and reconciliation, health innovations and technological revolution.
Thursday’s forum centered on discussions and an open forum featuring notable individuals who have made significant contributions to social development.
Speakers included Klasrum ng Pag-Asa founder Atty. Angelo Valencia, Philippine Marines Lt. Col. Romulo D. Quemado, Kythe Foundation program manager Dr. Angie Sievert-Fernandez and QBO associate director Katrina Chan.
House Secretary General Cesar Strait Parreja delivered the opening remarks while Inter-Parliamentary and Public Affairs Department Deputy Secretary General Atty. Darren de Jesus gave an overview of the forum.
Administrative Department Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ramon Ricardo Roque capped off the conference with closing remarks.
The first installment of LIYAB 2017 was held in October as part of the celebration of the House of Representatives Month.
