Two notorious drug pushers in Tondo killed in encounter with cops

Two notorious drug pushers were killed during a buy-bust operation conducted last Thursday night by operatives of Manila Police District (MPD) Station 1 in Smokey Mountain, Tondo, Manila.
Supt. Jay Dimaandal, chief of MPD Station 1, identified the two suspects only through their aliases Frank and Angelo who were both included in the drug watchlist in their area.
According to Dimaandal, shabu worth P15,000 was purchased by a police poseur-buyer from the two suspects on Radial Road 10, Barangay 128, Smokey Mountain at around 11 p.m.
When the two suspects noticed the cash money that was handed to them was just a “boodle money,” they
quickly drew their guns and fired at the police operative but missed.
The duo attempted to escape on board a motorcycle but were met by a volley of fire from the companions of the poseur buyer earlier posted in the area, resulting in the death of the suspects.
After the incident, police inspected a container van where the two suspects hid the drugs and found several drug paraphernalia.
According to MPD head Chief Supt. Rolando Anduyan, his order to his men was to work closely with barangay people to stop proliferation of illegal drugs in their areas of responsibility.
